Perhaps you’ve heard of the HTC Gratia, Aria’s European brother. This mid-range Android device may not seem very remarkable, yet it offers something new. The combination of the HVGA screen, the Froyo OS, and HTC Sense makes it a unique phone. Still nothing really interesting at that point, but for HTC Hero users, this is great news. A ROM port of the Gratia to the Hero would offer the Froyo speed and Sense features, without any resolution problems – the Hero has an HVGA screen too.
Yesterday, Shen Ye, one of the developers of the Villain ROM team, tweeted that this ROM is coming within a month, meaning that Hero users can soon enjoy Froyo and Sense too:
Right, Hero users who want 2.2 Sense, you don’t have to wait long! We should have a working beta within a month
For a long time, the Hero forums were full of frustration about the lack of true Froyo Sense experience, so it’s nice that it’s finally being worked on. We suggest you keep an eye on the HTC Hero Android Development forums so you can try it out immediately when it comes out
